Spain has become one of the largest wine producers in the world and a great source for flavorful wines at great values.  As Spain becomes a more prominent player in the wine world, it is important to become familiar with the wide range of grape varieties and growing regions in the country.  Join us for a small sampling of some of Spain’s best producers and we think you’ll see why wine lovers the world over love Spain!

 

Saturday, June 21: Sauvignon Blanc

Sauvignon Blanc exemplifies summer: light, crisp, bouncy, and full of citrus and tropical fruit flavors.  This grape variety has achieved high stature in many of the world’s great growing regions, from France’s Loire Valley to New Zealand’s South Island and everywhere in between.  Come and join us as we sample some great examples that highlight just how tasty and versatile these wines can be.

Saturday, June 28: Beer Tasting

 

In celebration of the Lenexa Barbeque, we will be featuring a beer tasting as a change of pace from our usual wine tasting.  We will be featuring a number of different microbrews and craft beers from some of our favorite breweries that will be sure to get your mouth watering!

Saturday, July 5: Malbec

Malbec represents one of the many Cinderella stories in winemaking.  From humble beginnings as a marginal grape in Bordeaux, it has been elevated to world-class wine status in Argentina and the warmer growing regions of Southwest France.  We will be sampling some great examples of South American Malbec in this tasting as we hope to expand the ever-curious wine palate with this versatile and fascinating grape variety.

Steamy, hot summer days call for light and thirst-quenching white wines.  With literally thousands of white wines to choose from, we will introduce you to some of our personal favorites and hopefully introduce you to something new and exciting as you seek relief from the heat!
