Late summer harvest brings bounties of pears and apples.

We offer several ways to work them into your cocktail creations.

Thatcher’s Organic Apple Spice Ginger Liqueur  delivers fresh apples and all-natural spices combined with a hint of fresh ground ginger.  The aromas are clean and pure.  It is a delicious liqueur that is not sticky sweet in taste.  Enjoyed best with bourbon and vodka based cocktails.

Prairie Dog

  • 2 parts Thatcher’s Organic Apple Spice Ginger Liqueur
  • 2 ½ parts Knob Creek Bourbon
  • ½ part fresh lemon juice
  • ½ part simple syrup

 

Simply shake all ingredients with ice and strain into an ice-filled rocks glass.  Enjoy!

 

 

 

Farmer’s Marketini

  • 2 parts Thatcher’s Organic Apple Spice Ginger Liqueur
  • 2 parts Premium Vodka
  • 1 part Triple Sec
  • 1 part Cranberry Juice
  • ½ part fresh lime juice

 

Simply shake all ingredients with ice and strain into a chilled martini glass.  Enjoy!

Dreams Never End

This cocktail comes from John Evans of NYC’s Black Market.  It features a rich pear syrup to soften the bite of the rye whiskey.

  • 1 1/2 oz rye whiskey
  • 3/4 oz sweet vermouth
  • 1/2 oz pear syrup
  • barspoon Campari
  • orange twist for garnish

Pour rye, sweet vermouth, pear syrup and Campari into a mixing glass.  Fill with ice.  Stir until well chilled.  Strain into a rocks glass filled with fresh ice.  Garnish with orange twist.

Pear Martini

This cocktail can double as dessert!

  • 1 2/3 vodka
  • 1/2 oz pear puree
  • 1/3 oz simple syrup
  • 1/5 oz lime juice
  • 1 slice of pear
  • ice cubes

Fill cocktail mixer with ice cubes.  Add all ingredients minus pear slice and shake.  Strain and pour prepared mixed drink into serving glass.  Garnish with pear slice and serve.

Roasted Pear Cocktail

  • 1 oz roasted pear puree (see recipe in sidebar)
  • 1 oz gin
  • 1/2 oz pear brandy
  • 1/2 oz lemon juice
  • 1/2 oz simple syrup
  • pinch of fresh ground cardamom

In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, add pear puree, gin, pear brandy, lemon juice, cardamom and simple syrup.  Shake for 10 seconds.  Strain into cocktail glass.
