Our featured recipes this month were developed by Ryan Maybee to showcase the J. Rieger & Co. Caffe Amaro.  Ryan co-owns The Rieger and Manifesto with chef-partner Howard Hanna, was voted the 2015 Top Mixologist of the year by Feast Magazine in KC and helped resurrect the 1880’s-era Kansas City distillery J. Rieger & Co. with Andy Rieger, who is the great-great-great-grandson of the distillery’s original founder, Jacob Rieger.  Ryan suggests the Breakfast Negroni or the Caffe Tonic to enjoy.

Caffe Tonic

  • 1.5oz J. Rieger & Co. Caffe Amaro
  • 4oz Tonic (Fever Tree recommended)
  • Orange Slice

Build over ice in a Collins Glass

Breakfast Negroni

  • 1oz J. Rieger Midwestern Dry Gin
  • 1oz J. Rieger Caffe Amaro
  • 3/4 oz Campari

Build over ice in a rocks glass and stir.  Garnish with Orange Zest.
